A Wonderful Day

Beside the 70 plus messages and 7 videos I got on Facebook and Youtube I received some fun gifts. There were books a bracelet and an iou for flowers for my garden and then,

This birdie arrived, I think its the cutiest. I am going to have to name her. Esmerelda keeps popping up in my mind so that is who she will be.

This beautiful hand knit scarf was made by my sister Peggy.  I had dyed the roving and sent it to her as a gift.  She spun it into yarn and knit this beautiful scarf and then sent it back to me.   It is butter soft and has a zillion colors in it.  I have been wearing it since I received it.  What a wonderful gift.

My daughter bought me this bird pull. It has 30 birds in it and each one is different.  I just love it, but had trouble trying to photograph it.

So I will show just a couple of the birds close up.  I think this is one of the funnest gifts, I love looking at all the individual birds. She found it in Portland at the World Market.

My friend Kate surprised me with this wonderful gift.  Its a writing box, you can see the two grooves on top are made for pens or pencils.  The lid opens up so you can store stationery or paper and pens.  It is made out of oak by her husband Jim.  She has one and when I saw it I had told her that it was something that I always wanted.  She remembered the conversation and had Jim build it for me.  Don't you think she is just the best friend a girl could have.

My Baby is 23

Its my little girls birthday today. Well maybe she is not so little anymore. She was sitting on the couch making the finishing touches to the kindle cover she crocheted yesterday, when I snapped this picture. It hard to believe its been 23 years since I became a mother. So far the best years of my life. Happy Birthday Sarah!

We are headed out to Red Robin for burgers. That is where Sarah wanted to go. We won't have dessert there because I have made my Dad's cheesecake with blackberry sauce to go on top. It will be yummy.

Birthday Bash Redo

I had a great time at my birthday dinner. We all went to Johnny Carinos for dinner. The night was filled with fun laughter and great food.

This is a pendant I received from Kate. Its a Lisa Leonard design. As you know I love birds so I really treasure this gift.

She also gave me this pot holder she had made. I had been admiring it at her house while it was in pieces and now its mine, how lucky can I be.










This is a tiny bag made by my sister Peggy.















She also made this tote bag. The bottom and middle are made from screen material.

My friend Kay gave me this book. I know I will use it in fact I had painted the flowers for my banner on this day and really could have used its advice. At least I am ready for the next time. It gives step by step instructions on painting all sorts of flowers.

I had a wonderful birthday celebration and am blessed to have so many wonderful friends.

My Birthday Bash

 I have just spent the day trying to get a post up with tons of pictures and lots of writing only to have lost the entire thing.  To say that I am annoyed would be an understatement. So tune in tomorrow when I will try again...

They say its your birthday!

The Beatles are here to sing me a birthday song.  You are welcome to come dance along with me. Yes today is my birthday. Lets dance around the room and sing too. Life is for celebrating and I plan on doing plenty of it today.

I am having a wonderful day so far.  We went out to breakfast and I had French Pancakes with Strawberries and whip cream.  Yummmm.

I opened my card this morning and what I call a fake present.  Dearest Dave gave me a faucet.  I said that can't be my present it breaks the rules.  Early on I said no vacuums or irons or appliances as birthday gifts.  So then he bought out the real present.  Photoshop Elements for the Mac.  I have been wanting this since I got the new computer back in October. I had been using the trial version this month and it has just about expired so this was perfect timing. I started working on a banner and it is taking longer than I had expected.

This afternoon I am going to work on Art in the studio and this evening I am going out to dinner at Johnny Carino's with 14 friends.  It will be fun to be spending my birthday with such good friends. Thanks to all of you who have sent me birthday greetings, you are making the day perfect.
