After Surgery

Surgery went well, now its on to the recovery.

Lady Violet's Dinner Gauntlets

Here are the Lady Violet's Dinner gauntlets all finished. All ready to wear for the last episode of Downton Abbey.

Here is the lacing that is at the outside. These gloves are really fun and comfortable to wear.

I really love these Dylusion Ink Sprays, so much that I now have every color.  They just came out with 6 new colors and the neatest one is the white linen.  It has pigment in it so you have to shake it before using it.

I used the White Dylusions spray on this page in the left corner, see how it lets different colors of the background come through. It is pretty cool stuff.

Here I used painted newspaper for the background and the birds I painted on old book pages a little while ago.  Writing was done with India Ink and a dip pen.

Tomorrow I go in for surgery to have the trigger finger fixed on my right hand.  There won't be much blogging for awhile.  I will check in here to let you know how I am doing.

 UPDATE- The Dylusian inks are the brian child of Dyan Reavely. She is a Ranger designer from the UK. You can find her videos on Youtube. I bought some of my sprays at Hobby Lobby when I was in Phoenix this past summer. The new sprays I got online at the franticstamper.com here is a link to the new colors. First Layers

I am having surgery in the morning, so there is not much art or anything else to share. I haven't felt well most of the week so all I have to share is a couple works in progress.

This is a 12 X 12 canvas that I worked on today. I wanted to do something in reds and oranges but this is mostly orange now.  I haven't a clue what will happen next but it is a start.  First layers include heavy bodied acrylic paints and stamping.

This is also 12 X 12 but its a wood panel. I started working on this in Katie Kendrick's class. The board was heavily textures with molding paste and then just sat.  I threw some heavy bodied acrylic paint on it the other day. There will be many more layers on this one. Sometimes I feel like pieces need to lay around for awhile and then I get inspired to work on them.  I have been wanting to move out of the art journal and start working on canvas and other substrates, so it feels good tio finally be doing that.

A day at the Zoo

 









I headed to the Zoo yesterday to the so the drawing lab exercise that is done there. First I tried drawing the lions but they kept getting up and moving on me.











Then I tried the zebra's which are so fun but I had forgotten to take an eraser and my zebras look mutated. They have a new colt who was so cute but  he was hard to get a picture of since he was always behind  his mom.











Then there was this great tortoise that walked this long way right to me. Then it just stared at me for awhile, it was really cool.















My best drawing was of the camel, as camels don't move very much.  He was kind of cute in his own way. It was a fun day but next time I will go when its cooler.

Prayer Flags

I hung up the flags I received so far. I think they really look fantastic.

Here is another look at them. I am expecting some more and I will add another string of them then. Pretty soon my yard will be full of art.













I attached Olivia's flag over here with the glitter sister flags from last year.  I love the Goddess in the labyrinth that she drew.













Here is a close up of Olivia's flag, she wrote a beautiful letter that really is Art to me.

Sarah will post something tomorrow after my surgery.  The good news is they are going to do it laparascopicly so that should be easier on me.
