Link Love June 7
Laini Taylor is on of my favorite authors and I have followed her blog for many years. She did this post on making airline packages for a friend. I thought it was such a wonderful idea that I am pointing you to that specific post. http://www.lainitaylor.com/2013/05/paris-is-always-good-idea.html
Danny Gregory https://vimeo.com/67086331# This is a video by the wonderful Danny Gregory where he teaches you how to draw something complex. In this case it is a dollar bill.
Palma Rea http://athena-myfirstbloggy.blogspot.com/ Palma is someone I know from many Facebook groups. She is a wonderful artist living in Rome.
http://www.denthe.blogspot.com/ I love her collages and bold use of color. There are some yummy pages here.
Now lets travel to Italy where Caterina shows you how to make a photo album from recycled envelopes. I also loved looking at her drawings of vases, such a simple beauty to them. http://caterinaedintorni.blogspot.it/
The link page is going to hosted by Diane from Crafty Pod for the next couple months. So check them out there if you'd like. Have a great weekend.

Days of Blood and Starlight
My early morning sketch. I pretty much can hardly sleep due to my foot. So its draw and read till sleep comes. Still no word on whether or not its broken.
This is what I have been reading. It is the sequel to the Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor. I am definitely in another world.
Have you read any good books lately?
Tonight I am headed to a Write Like its The Last Day On Earth gathering with my writers group. It should be fun.
Update on my foot : It is not broken, wish it was because then something could be done. Its arthritis in the joint of my big toe. Other than Advil there is nothing the regular medical community can do. Its time to start researching alternative therapies.

My Inner Pink
One of things I have been doing for this years Nano is having fun. One of the tools of Kaizen-Muse coaching is to act as if we were someone who is doing or being what we want to be. So I am acting like one of my favorite authors. I got myself a pink wig so I look lik Laini Taylor. I am really exploring my inner pink this year . What do you think, is it the real me? The color is even brighter than this shows. Its been fun. My friend Adam called me Laffy Taffy last night. He siad my hair reminded him of the pink version of the candy.
We have been having lots of fun in our group this year, I know I will miss it when the month is over. Have a great weekend everyone.
Hey you still have an opportunity to help out with my fundraiser I am doing for the Nanorwrimo. The proceeds go to fund the Young Writers Program. Which is a very worthy cause. Just click on the button below. Any amount is helpful.

Sedona In My Art
This journal page was fun. After playing with the background I saw her face and shoulder and then the rest of her cam out. I was going to just outline her shape and then paint her but I like the way the gel pen looked so I kept going. The raven in flight was a stencil I cut a few years back. I just colored it in with a brush pen. the background colors remind me of the rocks in Sedona. I can't seem to get away from Sedona, it keeps popping up in my art.
We finally got our wood floor installed but now there are tons of little things to do before we can move everything back into the room. I do love the way it looks though. I'll show pictures soon.
This is a pic of my daughter with author Laini Taylor. I know a lot of you know her from her novels or her Laini's Ladies line of art. I introduced Sarah to her work and she became her favorite author. She was just thrilled to be able to meet her. I can't wait to get my copy of her new book. Sarah got me a copy and had it signed for me. I am lucky to have such an awesome daughter.

International Faerie Day
I haven't been doing any art lately so today I just went into the studio even before breakfast and played in my srt journal. Since today is International Faerie Day it seemed appropriate to have a page for it. I looked hard for some faerie paper to use for the page. I knew I used to have some but I couldn't find it, so I dug out some of my stamps and played with them instead. Perhaps we should all go out at twilight and look for faeries tonight.
If your in the mood for faerie stories, I loved Laini Taylors two faerie books, Faeries of Dreamdark and Silksinger. Or you could try Faery Rebels by RJ Anderson. It is also a good story, along with the sequels Wayfarer and Arrow.
This started with the Laurel Burch tag from a tote bag I had bought. I loved it on the black gesso so I just pulled some papers out to match the colors of the cats. Both of these papers were tyvek I had painted on. I was amazed how weel white gel pens work on black gesso. I wish they worked as well on all surfaces.
