FOR TODAY

Outside my window... the sun is shining and it is one of those cool fall days where I love to take walks and feel my feet crunch upon all the leaves. Fall is such a special season.

I am thinking that I have way too many irons in the fire as they say and something is going to have to be let go. In November I will be blogging less or maybe have shorter posts.

I am thankful for all the opportunities in my life and all the wonderful people I have met this year.

In the kitchen Dave is making a butternut squash pie, the smell of it permeates the house.

I am wearing my black crocs and flannel pj's, my comfort clothes.

I am creating a new life with the coaching course I am taking. The lessons learned are so profound that it amazes me. I am so grateful to be able to pass this wisdom on to others.

I am going to continue to look for fun things to use to manipulate wax. The Hot Wax course I am taking is really fantastic.  I have so much to learn.

I am wondering how some women manage to do it all.  I am constantly having to revise my plans and let go of things.

I am reading : The view from the Summerhouse by Barabara Whitnell.  Its set in Cornwall, a place I would like to go to someday. Its all about returning to a piece of your past and reconnecting with it.

I am looking forward to the start of Nanowrimo on November 1st.  It will be fun to tell my Grandparents story.

I am hearing the sound of birds outside my window, most of them have left for greener pastures. I still have the house finches and black eyed juncos and occasional chickadees that hang out at my bird feeder.

Around the house everything has been dusted and cleaned.  During November I don't clean very much. All the focus is on the writing.

I am pondering those little things in life that make it all worthwhile.  Sit down and have a cup of tea with me and we'll talk.

One of my favorite things to do is have a hot bath with Celtic Sea Salts. I had one last night and the memory of it brings a smile to my face.

A few plans for the rest of the week: I'll have my first 2 calls where I am the coach this week.  I am incredibly nervous about it but know that it will be okay.  I'll do some further prep for Nanowrimo and watch the videos for the Hot Wax class. Then there are the regular activities, laughter yoga on Tuesday, meditation group on Wed and book group on Thursday.  We are reading Kitchen Table Wisdom which is an amazing book.

Here is picture for thought I am sharing... This was the sky outside my house a few days ago.

I find mother nature often gives us a spectacular show.

Simple Womens Daybook

I haven't done one of these in awhile so today seem like a good day to start again.

You can go here to read some more Daybook Entries.

FOR TODAY
Outside my window...   the sun is shining, skies are blue with just a few clouds it is one of those really beautiful late summer days.

I am thinking… that I when I act like an artist I really am one.  I let go of those inhibitions and can just create and that feeling is so wonderful.

I am thankful for...  .all my blogging friends, they inspire me so.  I was reading Lis blog today and she was talking about Creative Awakenings and I thought I need to get back to that.  Way back when the book came out I bought the little meditation that goes with it. I just haven't made the time to listen and go through the process.  Lis's post made me just go do it.

From the kitchen...I am cooking some breakfast while I type, big mistake as I just burned the bacon, oh well sometinmes uou have to take those hard crusty parts of life along with the sweet tender ones.

I am wearing...my cranberry colored pajama pants that has white scroll designs on them and a tshirt that does not match at all.

I am creating...my intention for September.,  it is to be a fearless artist, more on that later.
I am going...to go to town to get a new print cartridge.  I want to finish printing out my Nanorimo novel from 2008 since I have decided this is the story I'd like to work on. I started printing last night and only got 59  of the 91 pages printed before the ink cartridge died.

I am reading...or maybe I should say re-reading Eat Pray Love and finding it even better the second time.  There are so many insights for me this time around.

I am hearing...the hum of the refrigerator and a farm truck going down the street

Around the house...cleaning to be done but that can wait, too many other fun things to do.

One of my favorite things...  is sitting in my garden looking at all the wonderful prayer flags just blowing in the breeze and thinking of those friends who made them.

A few plans for the rest of the week:  A checkup with my physician on Tuesday, an Art date with my friend Jolene on Wednesday,   lunch with a friend on Thursday and making Art every day. Sounds like a wonderful week.

Here are some pictures I am sharing…

Some views from my trip last weekend.

It rained most of the day but the mountains were soon covered in snow. This is at Jenny Lake.

Then of course I have to shoot pictures of Ravens whenever I see them.

and a close up, you think ravens are black until you can see them really close up. There are brown and blue and even white feathers in there.

I bought this print at one of the gift shops in the park. I thought this raven couple was so cute. Someday I hope to get shots as good as this one.

Here is the collage page I did as part of my Fearless intention for the Creative Awakenings process.  The other thing you do is write about what you chose and so forth and I found the process to be very enlightening. I ended up writing two pages about this collage.  The color red is really predominant.  I kept being drawn to it over and over. I was able to see how each image had a message for me. What a great exercise.

Simple Woman's Daybook for Monday, April 5, 2010

I thought I would join in with this wonderful project.  I saw it on Kim's blog this morning. I just didn't realize how long this post would take but that is ok.  Go here to see how other women are starting their day

FOR TODAY
Outside my window... Snow is coming down, the birds are absent, probably hiding in the trees for shelter.

I am thinking... that this cup of Ginger Peach Tea was a good choice to soothe my sore throat.

I am thankful for... all the beauty out my windows.

From the kitchen... I have chicken soup on the stove for later when this sore throat needs some nourishment

I am wearing... Cranberry colored with white flourishes pajama pants a white top and an aran cardigan and slippers.

I am creating...  this blanket which will take a long time, also a new project with my glitter sisters is starting. More work on the various classes I am involved in.

I am going... to take it easy again today, I'll sit and read the letters my grandparents wrote.  I am up to 1908 now. Ooh I just read a reference to my grandfathers healing ability.  That is pretty cool.

I am reading... the 8:55 to Baghdad, a recreation of a trip that Agatha Christie took as a single mother after her divorce from, Archie Christie. The author intersperses his journey with hers. Also my grandparents letters.

I am hoping... that the snow outside melts and that the sun comes out again

I am hearing... just the hum of the refrigerator, its a soft gentle sound.

Around the house... the animals are all sleeping. I see things strewn all over so I'll have some picking up to do.

One of my favorite things... is the little planter that the Easter Bunny brought me.

A few plans for the rest of the week: On Thursday we attend a play. I'll lunch with my friend Kate,  make some art I need to do and then some just for play.

Here are some pics from my world

A new bunny has come to live here at least for a little while.

The view outside my front window

Here is the view out my back door. There is not as much snow in the yard but plenty beyond it.

Back inside there are plants for the garden growing.

A sleepy Flynn just wants to stay that way

Here is the cute sheep planter and roses that the Easter Bunny brought

Eowyn is so sleepy too, no one wants to wake up this morning.

The beginnings of a knit blanket. This is one of those you just pivk up yarn and knit till its gone or you are tired of it and add another color.  Someone on the net called it the forever blanket.  Its perfect for watching TV or other mindless activity.  You cast on 250 stitches size 9  or 10 needles and just knit. I am really enjoying working on it.

What is happening in your world today?
