Today's journal page, it feels so good to be doing them again. This started out with the card with the dress. I used Neocolor II WC crayons to extend the color into the background, then stamped with a word stamp I drew the lady in pencil on old book papers and attached her with gel medium. She was painted with Portfolio oil pastels. It was the first time I tried a face with them. The flower was white which I colored with stamp pad ink. I added a small jewel in the center. I used glossy accents to glue it down. Its my all purpose glue for embellishments. After writing I thought oh I shouldn't have used my own handwriting or perhaps I should have printed it, but alas its too late now so all is good.
The report back on Dave's eye is that it could have been a stroke, no way to be sure. Other tests they could do are way way way too expensive. So they will just let it be for now and check him in a month to see if the swelling in the nerve goes down. If that happens some vision could return but if not then he will just have to adjust to having one eye that doesn't work very well. Not the best news but there are many people out there in his position who do just fine.
The news about Dave's eye isn't the best but it could be worse, I guess. I hope the swelling goes down and he's able to see with both eyes. I'll keep you both in my thoughts.
ReplyDeleteJournal pages with handwriting are always so interesting. I like it much better than printing because it adds such a personal touch.
I hope so too, like Janet, that the swelling goes down and he is able to see with both eyes. That would be great. I will pray and send healing energies.
ReplyDeleteI like your going to multi-dimensional. And of course I love the words here both written and printed on her face...very nice!
xoO
I'm sorry I missed you yesterday and I'm sorry to hear about your husband's eye. My optic nerve did something similar and it was scary. I hope that once the swelling goes down, he will have better vision.
ReplyDeleteYou're journal page is great. I'm going to have to have you teach me your Neocolor skills.
Sending healing prayers for your husband's recovery! Have faith... *hugs*
ReplyDeleteLove your journal pages. I great place for you to heal as well. Yes... I agree, always makes an interesting art journal when you combined illustrations with writing. Those two work so well together, makes a powerful punch!! :)
So sorry to hear about the possible stroke and bad vision!
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed your pages shown here.
Wishing you the best of holidays possible.
Hi Kate,
ReplyDeleteHope Dave's vision gets better. Sending well wishes to him. My Lee has been down sick this week with the flu so it's chicken soup and pampering the one who never gets sick.
:-)
Sending healing love and light to your Hubby, Kate, and to you.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the creative time wherever it fits in !
