Sacred Life Sunday

When I was in the Tetons I had this moment that was so meant for Sacred Life Sunday that I waited till now to mention it.
We had about a day and a half of rain and it had finally stopped.  I had just done the dishes and Dave was taking a nap.  I thought I'd go for a walk, so I grabbed a trekking pole for my walking stick and set out.

I walked down to Jackson Lake and when I got to the shore I looked over to my left and looked at the Mountains.  The rain had stopped and the mountains were covered in snow, then the sun appeared and the scene just glowed.  As I looked at the sight, I thought this is one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen.  It was  just me and nature. I have seen the mountains so many times but this time was different somehow. I felt so grateful being alive, being in that place and enjoying the wonders of nature.  What a gift.

Sacred Life Sunday

I just got home from church where we had our monthly potluck.  It was a time of friendship, sharing and good food.  I always like these days, it makes me feel part of a community.

When I got home I was reading in Giving Thanks; the gifts of gratitude, and I thought of all I have to be grateful for on this particular Sunday. Amongst these is the beautiful day we are having. I am going to add being grateful to be able to take my dog out for a walk today.  To spend a little time in nature always lifts my spirits.  I'm grateful I got to go to that concert on Friday, to spend a wonderful time with friend and hear fantastic music.  I am grateful that I will be going to Ireland soon.  I am grateful for my wonderful husband and daughter, they are the best. I am grateful for all my blogging friends, that we get to communicate in this wonderful way.

What are you grateful on this beautiful Sunday in March?

Sacred Life Sunday - backyard birds

I walked out to my backyard and saw these love birds. I thought what are they and after a closer look discovered these are Mourning Dove Babies. I thought they were so cute.

Right next to them was this young robin. It looks so much different from its mother.

Then I tried to capture the ellusive humming bird.

I caught this one trying for a little drink.

This summer I have been just amazed and the wildlife that is in my own backyard. Maybe I have just taken the time to slow down enough to actually see what is around me.

Now what else could there be that I am not really seeing?

Enjoy your Sunday.
