Wishcasting Wednesday -What do you wish for your health
Jamie asks us today "What do you wish for your health?" I wish to transform it into something I want it to be. I have made many changes in my health recently but I just can't seem to grasp on to a good eating plan that I stick to. I still grab for the comfort foot, still eat whatever the family eats, still don't plan my meals. I would like a change of mindset that helps me make those changes that I want to but seem to resist.
To see what other wishers are doing go here
Some notes on the artwork. This is a page I did while camping last week. The background was spray painted and then it was embellished with markers. The strip on the right side was some paste paper I made a few years ago. I embellished it with markers to bring out some of the colors. The words were printed on decorative scrapbook paper.

A Peek Into My New Class
I have been working on preparing and filming my next class. Bodacious Backgrounds and More. I am really excited about this class. It is going to be so much fun. I am going to cover Color Theory, pulled art, making backgrounds with spray paint and Colorwash and a whole lot more. Since I am including some spray painting I needed to take advantage of the one good weather day we've had in a week. I headed out to do some sampling in the garage. Here's a sneak at my worktable, and then a few of my samples.
I just love this new paper stencil. I have used it to makes stamps, spray paint and use spray inks. Its pretty versatile.
I love how ithereal spray painting can make things look.
It turns out my black spray paint is having issues, it just didn't come out black like it should. I don't know if it because of the temps outside or what. I may just go get a new can.
I do love the look of spray paint over lace. Here I didn't mind that the black didn't really come out black. The muted shade seems to add to the antique look of things.
I did the butterfly's all in one color I think next time I will try multi-colored.
Some basic circles look good multicolored.
This leaf paper was a new stencil too and initially I thought it was boring but now with multiple colors I kind a like it.
I love using this alphabet stencil and had been looking for it. There it was in the garage with some other stenciling materials. Do you ever misplace materials and have no clue where they are?

In Progress
There is a lot of activity going on but there is not much finished.
I took these towels off the loom yesterday but now they need to be washed and hemmed.

This is another warp ready to put on the loom. It is hand dyed silk and I am going to make a kimono like top out of it.

Then there is my new mailbox, here it is with its first coat of paint. I haven't decided what I will paint on top of this yet.

Here is a sneal peak at the suitcase I am altering.

I started on the journal using the Creative Awakenings: Envisioning the Life of Your Dreams Through Art
This is the cover, you are supposed to decorate the aluminum with alcohol inks but I really didn't like how it looked so I took it off. The cover is supposed to have symbolic elements. I chose a raven and the four directions are here along with the moon, sun, stars and a spiral. I also stamped things I liked on the cover like turtles, hands and dragonfly's.

This shows the center piece a little better.

I do like how the back cover turned out too.
In the beginning of the book she asks you several questions and I am going to do journal pages on some of them. This first one was all about the past year.

This one was all about your personal and creative strengths. I thought it would be easy but found it difficult to come up with very much, I know I have more strengths so I will probably be adding to this page at a later time.
Paper Bag Journal
After countless hours trying to get a video made of my paper bag journal I went to Slide and had them do it. Its on my sidebar if you would like to look.

Spray painting again.

I made this page several days ago and then forgot about it. I really liked the image and just added some embellishment to go with it.
The weather is finally nice enough to do some spray painting. This background was done months ago. The cranes and dragonfly's were spray painted with a stencil.
This background was done with that gesso ghost writing technique. It was so long ago that I don not evwen remember what I wrote. I am a little rusty with my spray painting so the city did not trun out exactly right but I still like it.
This is one of those pages that has paint on top of paint I never like the colors but with a little spray paint it came to life. These stencils were made with my Cricut electronic cutter.
This background was fun because I randomly used 4 colors of spray paint. The paper I used for the stencil was bought a long time ago. I just never had the opportunity to use it yet. I think it will be a fun one.
Here are the latest paint and pass canvases I have worked on.
On this one I added the sun. I had a hard time decided what to do here but my muse Zoe told me to paint a sun so I did.
I saw a mountain in the background so I added several.
In the morning I am heading to Missoula for my daughters college graduation. I won't be posting till at least Wednesday, see you then.

Creative Everyday - this week
My post for Creative Every Day is a hodgepodge this week. Lots of different creativity in different genre's are showcased. I have been in a little quiet Art period of late. I have started lots of journal pages but nothing seems to be finished. I have experienced the same with Wreck this Journal activities so I figure it is a cycle that I will snap out of soon.

This first group are some cereal boxes that I plan to make into ATC's. The spray paint worked great on that cardboard.

This page is in the paper bag journal. I am finding that the spray paint looks really different on the paper that paper bags are made of.

Here is another female face I drew why listening to a poetry reading.

This is the latest scarf off my loom. It is rayon chenille in black and variegated blues, woven to appear like a window check. I like the way it looks. I am now threading a simple cotton warp for another scarf. A couple years ago I was going to be part of a show so I wound all these warps. The show fell through and I never move the items. This summer I am hoping to weave up most of them. Then when I get that etsy shop open I will have something to sell.
Have a wonderfully creative day!
