Inner Wisdom

I found my way back to my art journal once again. This page came out of nowhere, the background was just excess paint a mixture of things. I really didn't like the colors together but when I put this image from a greeting card on the page it seemed to come to life. I like when that happens.

I used my cricut machine to print out the words Inner Wisdom. It has a feature where you remove the cutting blade and add an ink cartridge and you can write instead of cutting. It really ads to the diversity of the machine. Perfect to use for Art Journaling too. The stamps I used also seemed to be intuitive and I like how they worked.

So many times lately when I have tried to journal I just run into a blank I have no idea of what I want to do and its been frustrating, I just need to remember to just let go and be open to whatever happens.

Has your journal been calling to you, maybe you just need to let go and see where it takes you.

  1. Kate, it's a gorgeous page! And you're right that you just have to let go and see what happens. Now be sure to make another page, and another, and another. Your art is always good. I like how you always manage to put yourself into it. I guess we all do but somehow yours is more "you"....if that makes any sense!

  2. Pretty, pretty, I really like it, Kate. Super nice. I am the same way. I keep telling myself I'm just going to "play" and "make a mess" and "experiment" and that helps me to relax and not HAVE to be "creative", or what I think looks creative. Paradoxically, it's then that I CAN be creative! Blessings and love, O

  4. Ohhh - is the ink thing a new feature on newer cricuts ? I have a friend who never uses hers and asked me if I wanted to buy it from her - I wouldn't for the cutting but the printing could be a cool thing !

Yes, that letting go isn't always easy with art journals. I often do my best stuff when I just give and allow myself the right to make "ugly" art of that is what feels like coming. It is the process that is the key for me in the end, not the end product...
Love this page and how free you got !
I hope you have a cozy weekend !
