Wishcasting Wednesday -How do you wish to nourish your self
For today's Wishcasting Jamie asks us the simple question, How do wish to nourish yourself. Since I go in for surgery on Friday I wish to nourish the self by totally healing my body and my mind and spirit too. Having a hysterectomy is something that many women go through and I seem to get that the process entails so much more than just the the physical surgery part.
I have done my best to prepare for lots of downtime and soul searching and releasing that will happen in the next few months. I am embracing that process in the only way I know how but am open to new thoughts and ideas that I know will come.
I choose this wish today to foster the idea that nourishing the self is not something we do when something goes wrong but becomes part of our everday existence like brushing our teeth. I wish to make new choices that honor me as a woman as a spiritual being, that serve me and those around me. I wish for more experiences of bliss.
You can be a maker of magic and a tender of wishes. It’s easy. Answer the wish prompt above on your blog and then add it to others here

ReplyDeleteI have heard that too..the emotional and the physical..how wise of you to create space to experience both! May it go gently and that you heal quickly! Hugs, Sarah
As Kate wishes for herself, I wish for her also. Great wish to make nourishing part of our everyday existence.
ReplyDeleteAs Kate wishes for herself, I wish for her also. I love the last paragraph of this post. It's so important to love and nourish ourselves on a daily basis. I'm keeping you in my thoughts each day, and I know you'll have a speedy recovery. You are a strong, wise woman.
ReplyDeleteI am trying to put myself mentally into your shoes. I think I would approach this surgery some what in the way I am approaching our house renovation. There are things in the house I no longer need. I needed them at one time, but they no longer have a use. So this part of my body, no longer needed for child bearing can go. It served it's purpose. I can let it go. And like my new house that looks better and feels better with less in it, my body will also be fine, healthier, in it's new healed state. I remember when my best friend had her hysterectomy, it took a lot out of her as far as energy was concerned. There was a painful period physically and she had to be very gentle with herself and let others do things for her she could not yet do herself. She had to give her body time to heal and rejuvenate. I hope you will be as gentle with yourself and as understanding. In time my friend was as good as new, healed and well and full of her old energy again. You will be too. It just takes time. I wish you a smooth and easy healing process and perfect health! And (((Hugs))) too because no propective surgery is fun, just necessary.
ReplyDeleteas Kate wishes for herself, i wish for her also. i love this wish...because it's so true...we often treat nourishment and self-care as something special and occasional...rather than something vital to our daily lives.
ReplyDeleteAs you wish for yourself, I too wish this for you

ReplyDeleteAs Kate wishes for herself, I wish for her also. A very astute observation that we all too frequently defer self care until something goes wrong. May you continue to make nourishing yourself a daily practice and may you have a quick and full recovery.
